About Nimbus

Nimbus is an open-source design system built by Tiendanube/Nuvemshop to accelerate the work of countless partners who want to integrate into the ecommerce platform by building solutions for merchants. It's also the design system powering all of the company's products

My role

I have been a part of the Nimbus team since the beginning, and as such I've contributed integrally to the foundation, distribution and adoption of our design system.

From the start, I've been an integral part of the definition of our design principles and setting up our style guides and token libraries. I contributed to the creation of a color system that supports dark mode and theming natively.

I've been a key part of the construction of our component libraries for Figma, which are currently published as open-source on Figma Community for general public use. I've also contributed extensively to the building of our design system codebase for React.

As a member of the team, I've also helped design and develop our custom-made documentation site, which features a dynamic, tailor made solution of localized how-to guides, API reference, guidelines for designers and developers and ready-made templates for copy-paste and integrated with code sandbox for rapidly prototyping projects.

Finally, since the start, I've been advocating and providing support to our internal teams for migrating into Nimbus, helping raise awareness of the benefits of working with our design system and ensuring best practices are being met. I've also provided workshops and training sessions and held design critiques to help polish and improve our product further.
